Jungle Scout’s Chrome Extension is an irreplaceable tool for all the sellers on the web who placed their trust in the Jungle Scout software.
With it installed on your browser, you can explore new opportunities, forecast product sales, and eventually request customer reviews with one simple click.
With product demand insights and competitive data, the Jungle Scout Chrome extension is one of the most popular Amazon product research tools on the market.
In this guide, I will share how beginners can use the extensions and what else can be done once they are installed on your browser. Let’s begin!
What is Jungle Scout Chrome Extension?
Jungle Scout Chrome Extension is a browser extension that allows you to get insights into a product’s sales forecast, get historical data, evaluate untouched opportunities that can help you break into a new domain, and much more.
The same extension is also available for those who use the Firefox browser. With the extension, you can evaluate two pages. The search results page and the product listing pages.
When you search for a product name or category on Amazon, if you have a valid Jungle Scout plan and its Chrome extension installed on your browser, you can click on the little pop-up that reads “JS” on the right-hand side of your screen.
If you click on it, you can now see the sales data under each product listing, where you can deep dive into the total and daily sales, monthly revenue, and net profit.

If you even search for a specific individual product, in that case, you can see the important metrics like monthly sales, monthly revenue, and net profit, and you can also see the trends ranging from 3 months, 6 months, 1 year to up to 2 years.

Understanding Jungle Scout’s Key Features In Detail
The Jungle Scout extension offers some of the best features that can help you optimize your workflow, make better decisions, and, most importantly, generate more profits. Let’s take a look at them below:
1. Average Monthly Revenue
Jungle Scout’s extension shows the average sales data for both the product page and the individual product page listings.
It shows how much business a product did in said month or a day based on the price and the sales volume.
The advanced filter options can also help you narrow down your search to more specific results.
2. Opportunity Score
Jungle Scout’s algorithm rates a product’s overall potential based on the total units sold, competition or number of sellers, as well as the quality of listings that are similar to yours.
A score over 7 is generally considered good for any product and indicates good potential.
3. Historical Data
Sometimes, just the current sales of the product are not enough for the seller to decide whether to go forward with it or not. In such instances, they need to go beyond what’s just the current scenario.
With historical data, you can determine the best time to sell a product and, most importantly, times when not to sell it. Historical data is sometimes the most important deciding factor during product selection.
4. AI Review Analysis
With the AI review analysis in your arsenal, you can identify trends in the review for your or your competitor’s product, which can help you understand your target audiences and their sentiments in a better way.
A good product must always start with addressing the pain points of the audiences, and in that case this feature holds weightage.
5. Listing Quality Score (LQS)
The Listing Quality Score is Jungle Scout’s in-house algorithm that determines the quality of a given listing that you are interested in.
This can be very helpful when you want to improve the quality of your own product listing and get an edge over your competitors.
You can find it as an optional filter in the Jungle Scout extension and the Product Database option. A product listing with a 7 or higher score is generally preferred.
6. Total Seller Count & Type
With the extension, you can now see how many sellers have a similar listing of a product. A higher number of sellers means there is a lot of competition in the market.
Furthermore, you can also accurately know whether the product is sold by Amazon, FBA, or third-party sellers, which can help you revise your strategy accordingly.
7. Request Reviews
This feature presents itself as a button that lets you send product review requests to all your customers with the extensions.
It only takes one click, and all the review requests are sent to the eligible customers within minutes.
Introduced in 2019, this feature is super easy to access and can greatly help new sellers stack up reviews to improve their product’s reputation and authority.

How To Use The Jungle Scout Chrome Extension
Once you have successfully installed the extension, now is the time to start using it. The steps listed below explain it in the easiest way possible. Let’s get started.
1. Browser Amazon Search Results Page
Look up the products that you are interested in and would like to sell. For instance, I searched the term “Cat treats,” and as I hit enter, the Jungle Scout extension sprang into action.
The products loaded with them loaded the Jungle Scout metrics, which you can see in the image below.
Upon clicking on the pop-up page, Jungle Scout scanned the products and loaded various metrics within seconds, which you can see in the image below.
The top row below the orange stips shows you all the average estimated values of the monthly sales, price, revenue, and ratings.
To the right, you can see the Opportunity Cost, which indicates the competition and the demand for the product niche.
The table below features various data points like teh brand name, prices, monthly and daily units sold, monthly revenue, when the product was first available, Net revenue, star rating, and much more.
The table extends to the right, even beyond your screen. You can scroll to the right by pressing the arrow shown in the image below.
You can now also see the total number of sellers a product has. For instance, if the product has only 1 seller, then it is a private-label product. More than one seller can indicate greater competition.
Tip: Choose a product that has at max 10 sellers, not more than that. The lesser, the better.
You can also play around with the filters to only see the results that are most important to you. You can also click on the filter option and filter your results accordingly.
2. The Individual Listings Page
Upon finding a promising product, you can choose to dive deep into it by clicking on it. Jungle Scout Extension will show you all the data associated with the individual product listing page.
The data points don’t change from the ones that we saw on the product listing page above however, here, you can dive deeper into the metrics by using the historical data and trends to see how well a product has fared against the test of time.
3. Tracking and Decision-making
You can also track various products and compare them against one another to pick a winner you can compete against.
The Product Research option on your Jungle Scout dashboard lists all your “Tracked products.” Here, you can also compare all the products and pick the best for the business.
Once you click on the short-listed product, you can see the Find Supplier option above the list. If you click on it, all the suppliers that sell that product will be listed on your screen.
You can now communicate with them and find the one available in your region, source the products as required, and begin filling your inventory.

Jungle Cost Chrome Extension Pricing
Jungle Scout’s both annual and monthly plans offer the Chrome extension. However, with the starter plan, you cannot export data or see the historical trends, which can be a deal breaker for some.
Chrome Extension Features | Starter plan$49/month | Growth Accelerator plan$79/month | Brand Owner + Cl plan$399/month |
---|---|---|---|
Browser Data | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
Export Data | – | ✅ | ✅ |
See Historical Trends | – | ✅ | ✅ |
Historical trends are one of the most important features of the Jungle Scout Chrome extension, and for that reason, I think it should be a part of your workflow.
It would have been best if Jungle Scout could include it in the Starter plan so that beginners could also experience the extension to its fullest potential.

The extension helps you save a lot of time with its seamless integration with Amazon Seller Central, plus its ability to extract data like rank, sales volume, and estimated revenue effectively streamlines the research process.
By leveraging its capabilities, you can identify potential market trends earlier from your competitors and short-list products, as well as optimize their listings so that they can sell better than others.
